Break the habit of being quiet and shy in language class! Don't be afraid of making mistakes, sharing your opinions, or volunteering an answer, or asking a question. Always be yourself, relax, and most importantly, have fun and realize the importance of a positive attitude! When it comes to learning a foreign language, these things are just as, if not even more important than, grammar rules, spelling, and vocabulary.
